The Alhambra is the great Moorish masterpiece in Spain, an exceptional expression of Islamic architecture.
Notice the central fountain and the small watercourse leading away from it. Water, in the dry Islamic nations, assumed an importance that most Westerners do not attach to it, even considering their preference to have it nearby.
