The Grand Place in Brussels is one of Europe's treasures. The royal palace is the grandest of the buildings. While many of the other buildings are comparatively small, all the buildings on the square are intricate and ornate. They are built in a consistent style, although each is unique. The palace meets all our tests for a monumental building - variegated roof line, quality materials, excellent design, and generosity. It may be the finest building in Belgium.
