This is the hot springs in Wiesbaden, one of the many German cities that offer thermal spa cures. Here we have a lovely integration of a good building with an attractive garden/park. It has been laid out with full mirror symmetry, which is in keeping with the stiff formality of the space and the building. When urban green areas are kept small, they can be tended quite intensively at affordable costs. Many flower beds such as these are replanted several times a year, so they are usually in bloom. This is an excellent tactic for maximizing the impact of green space and one that most cities could support, as long as the area is kept to a reasonable size.
Notice the excellent entrance, framed in a large but fairly delicate arch.
